This is my article to put the record straight about the role of the Coachbuilder and in particular how this relates to the Routemaster.

As part of its series called "Perpetual Motion", in 1992 the BBC produced two programmes featuring the Routemaster.



Filmed on Tuesday 31st January 1956, the week before RM1's official inaugural run in service on February 8th, RM1 is shown here on part of its route between Victoria and the Houses of Parliament (note: click on the clip for the movie).

Wednesday 8th February 1956, saw the inaugural run of RM1 in service from Golders Green to Crystal Palace; Bella was the "clippie" on the day and this is her anecdote.
