The AEC Regent II chassis was destined to become a rarity. Whilst the production run of the chassis between 1945 & 1947, during which period less than 700 were produced, the last few remaining were still to be bodied at Park Royal in 1948 for Reading Corporation,
I'm grateful to Ian McLellan-Smith for this rare image of the lower saloon of
one of the batch of ten Regent II chassis for Reading Corporation (Body Nos. B33218-28)
delivered in September 1948. Yes, the batch of body numbers make eleven
bodies and not ten; one of these bodies was for the re-bodying of a Regent II
chassis from a batch delivered the previous year whose body had been destroyed
in a fire shortly after delivery.
Does anyone have any other images of PRV bodied Regent II chassis?
